What are the major components of Solar Energy?
a.) PV Modules: Collects the energy radiating from the sun
b.) Inverter: Convert DC electricity to AC electricity, which is the most common type of current used in homes.

How long does a system last?
Panels: the manufacturer warrants the panels for 25 years
Inverter: The manufacturer warrants the inverters for 10 years
Labor: CSS guarantees the labor with a 10-year warranty

Is solar power for everybody? What if I live up north?
Anyone who has a good site will reep the benefits of solar power. Once the system is installed, any electricity you generate is free. When it comes to the north, the panels are able to withstand extreme weather conditions.

What about cloudy days?
Solar systems will work most days, even if its cloudy outside. The cloud reduces the amount of solar radiation reaching your system, but the energy that does reach will be absorbed by your system. It only does not generate electricity when its extremely cloudy.

Will my system provide electricity in the event of a power outage?
Well it all depends on which type of system you get. Systems with a battery backup will provide electricity with a black out.

What is the best place to mount the system?
The most important factor in determining where to mount the system is to figure out where there is direct sunlight. Most of the time, this means mounting the system on the roof. In certain instances, we need to mount the system on the ground to obtain most direct sunlight with minimal shading.

What size system do I need?
It all depends on your preference:
A.) If you wanna completely eliminate your electricity bill, then we would inspect you last 12 months of electricity bills and size a system to match you electricity usage to system output.
B.) If you want a smaller system, we can eliminate the upper three tiers of your electricity bills, which leaves you with only the two smaller tiers to pay for.

Can I completely eliminate my electricity bill?
Unfortunately you cannot eliminate your bill completely. There is about a $6/month charge by the utility companies to connect to their grid.

Can my HOA restrict me from installing a system on my home?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! The California Civil Code 2743, also known as the Solar Rights Act, restricts HOA’s from preventing solar installations except for health and safety reasons.

How long does it take to install?
Most residential systems typically take 2-3 days to install.

How will the system affect the resale value of my home?
The appraisers journal states that for every $1,000 you save on your electricity bill, the value of the home will increase by $15,000. This, in itself, pays off the system when you sell your home.
